On-Site Program

The current exhibition Flight Into Egypt at the Metropolitan Museum of Art features several artists whose works can be experienced throughout the MTA system. This inclusion of public artwork in a groundbreaking museum exhibition highlights MTA Arts & Design’s leadership role in adding site-specific museum-worthy art into North America’s largest mass transit system. Since the 1980s, MTA Arts & Design has commissioned work that reflects the people and the diversity in the MTA’s service region while also being at the vanguard of broader trends and themes in contemporary art.

Join Akili Tommasino, curator of the Flight into Egypt exhibition, contemporary artists Damien Davis and Chloë Bass who have artwork in system, and Yaling Chen, Deputy Director of MTA Arts & Design to discuss how artists have been commissioned to make meaningful connections to transit stations and to the neighborhoods, communities, and riders they serve.

Tickets for this event are $10 for museum members and $15 for the general public.

For members the discount is applied at checkout.
