MTA’s Open Data Stories

Thursday, January 23, 2025

6:00 PM ET / Doors open 5:45 PM ET

On-Site Program

$15 / Members $10

In 2021, New York Governor Hochul signed the MTA Open Data Act codifying the MTA’s commitment to sharing data with the public. As a result, datasets on ridership, needs assessments, performance metrics and more, can now be accessed and interpreted, and have been used, by a broad range of community stakeholders who have generated data-driven proposals to study and improve New York City’s transportation system; leading to the launch of the first-of-its-kind MTA Open Data Challenge in 2024.

Join Lisa Mae Fiedler from the MTA’s Open Data team to learn more about the data initiative and some of the current projects underway. Julia Han, Jediah Katz, and Mark Zitelli, members of Subway Stories, a Data Challenge finalist, will also present how they used open data to tell the city’s transit story.

Tickets for this event are $10 for museum members and $15 for the general public.

For members the discount is applied at checkout.
