Free Family Event:
Join the Transit Museum online and explore innovative transportation! Children with developmental disabilities or those on the autism spectrum and their families are invited to join us online for a free, fun afternoon program. Author and musician Michael Hearst will share some of his favorite quirky and unusual vehicles from his album and book Unconventional Vehicles: Forty-Five of the Strangest Cars, Trains, Planes, Submersibles, Dirigibles, and Rockets, and sing some original tunes. We will explore our vintage train cars during a virtual tour of the Museum’s subway platform and design a vehicle inspired by what we’ve seen.
All ages welcome! Admission to this program is FREE and will be conducted using the Zoom platform.
Please Note: This event will take place online. Upon registration, all participants will receive a confirmation e-mail with instructions on how to participate. We encourage you to download the Zoom app in advance for the best user experience.
Accessibility:
A social narrative will be emailed in advance of the program for your family to learn more about the activities and what to expect during a Zoom event.
You will have the option to turn on automatic captions for this virtual program. Staff will share instructions for how to do so at the start of the event. Please email [email protected] with any questions.
